What Type Of Extensions Should You Get?

You’ve been on the hunt for extensions and you think you know what you want but you’re still not quite really sure. Well, here is a little somethin’ somethin’ to help you make your decision.

HAND-TIED WEFT

HAND-TIED hair extensions is a type of weft that is used for our Platform Hair Extension Method. HAND-TIED hair itself usually lasts 6-12 months depending on how well you take care of that hair AND the quality. HAND-TIED hair has return hair, also known as “mustache hair” which can be itchy at the scalp. Because of this there can be more matting involved up at the scalp.

We usually need between 8-12 wefts per head which can pretty heavy if you’re not used to extensions quite yet. This is a great first step in trying any type of beaded method.

Pros:

Long lasting

Can easily be colored

Adds Length and fullness

HAND-SEWN

HAND-SEWN hair extensions is another type of hair used for our Platform Hair Extension Method. HAND-SEWN hair also lasts 6-12 months depending on how well you take care of it. It does NOT have that itchy “mustache hair” at the top so matting is pretty much not going to happen. It’s much thinner made at the top of the weft, but has more hair per weft. We also feel that you don’t need as much hair as the HAND-TIED hair because there’s more hair per weft and it’s skinner feeling so it feels very lightweight! All in all, this is our favorite weft to use in the salon.

Pros:

Long Lasting

Most hair per weft

Can be cut without shedding

No mustache

Offered in most color options

Can easily be colored

Adds length and fullness

Both HAND-SEWN and HAND-TIED hair extensions are put on your head by having a halo or “headband” of beads around your head and then proceeded by hair wefts. You typically need anywhere from 4-6 wefts per row of extensions.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR LONGER HAIR you will most likely need 2 rows of extensions.

IF YOU ARE LOOKING FOR FULLER HAIR you will most likely need only 1 row of extensions.

K-TIPS

K-TIP hair extensions are perfect for filling in any gaps around your face or the whole head. You can use these easily and hide them when you put your hair up or if the wind blows your hair extensions around. K-TIP extensions are put in your hair by melting the keratin bond onto a peice of your hair. It’s VERY lightweight and most of the time you forget that they are there.

Pros:

Lightweight

Does a tremendous job of filling in any gaps

Can be used all over the head

Doesn’t shed

Easily achievable on anyone.

YOU CAN MIX AND MATCH all the extensions and get them customized to what your hair needs and wants are.
